L to R - Tim Belford, Bruce Carnaffin, Ken Oates, Brian Judge, Roy Cansdale, Peter Boswell

‘ Mainline Jazz is a Dixieland - to- mainstream outfit

which has been together for about 12 years in all

and 4 years with its current line-up.

Although the basis of our material is robust

and entertaining traditional jazz,

the band is more than capable of branching out into smooth ballads

and even bossa-nova, which stands us in good stead

when playing at weddings and birthday parties.’

and Funk numbers:

Ian Gray – piano.

“Influences can be detected

(Hawk, Webster,Carney and Goodman among them ),

by an airy swing, a lyrical approach to improvising,an unflagging dynamism

and prevailing good taste."
